Everyone loves doing Yoga to Live Music!
Total Yoga has been experimenting with having different genres of music played live in the class; and this time it’s the turn of ‘KIRTAN ROCK’!
YOGA-to-Live-MUSIC! is part of a series of Yoga events that are done with a Musician creating music as the class happens. A bit about Kirtan Rock and this week’s performer.
Kartika Nair, who goes by the stage name of “Synchroshakti“, is a solo artist, who fuses western lyrics to Vedic mantras and Shlokas over the gentle strum of her acoustic guitar. She sings these powerful ancient verses in a styling that is relatable and appealing to our modern times and musical influences. Apart from such fusion, she also plays her original English compositions that are set to stories of her own awakening and spiritual journey and are aimed to create an uplifting experience for her audience. She seeks to connect to the hearts of her listeners, through her music and establish and promote a sense of community.
“Each class is anyways done to music; but having a Live musical performance – that too with the Teacher leading a dynamic Vinyasa sequence in tune to the music – elevates the entire class to a whole new meditative experience! And of course, practicing Meditation becomes effortless!” – Manish Pole, Total Yoga.
