International Yoga Day website launched by Narendra Modi!
“Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, yesterday launched the website of the International Day of Yoga at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The website – www.idayofyoga.org – provides comprehensive information, in a user-friendly manner and initially in six official United Nations languages, about the International Day of Yoga and all related events, with videos, images, articles, news, etc., to support the celebration of International Day of Yoga worldwide. The website will also feature a bi-weekly quiz called iYogiQ based on the history and other factoids related to Yoga. BSF starts yoga for troops to combat stress
“With “sleep deprivation” due to hard duties remaining a continuous irritant for the troops of country’s largest border guarding force BSF, the paramilitary has launched a string of yoga classes and stress management sessions for its men and women in combat. The force has tied up with the renowned spiritual and social organisation ‘Brahma Kumaris’ for conducting 30 special workshops for its personnel based in border camps and other frontiers in the country.” Read more >>
BROGA is ‘Yoga for Brothers’ by Total Yoga
It was created as a reaction to the fact that in America 81 per cent of the students in yoga classes were women. Men would stay away from these fitness classes as they would cater to flexibility and was considered too ‘soft’ for men to try. That was when Broga was created for men to be able to do yoga within the camaraderie of brothers. Read >>
