Series Of Yoga Events In US – 100 Cities To Have Yogathon Powered By OVBI
Ahead of the first International Day of Yoga on June 21, Overseas Volunteer for a Better India (OVBI), New York, in association with the Indian Consulate General of New York and other partner organizations, launched the Yogathon Website and started a movement to create a platform where hundreds of partner organizations, including those representing diverse ethnic organizations in the US will come together to become part of the Yoga movement. Air India introduces yoga sessions for its newly-recruited cabin crew and pilots
The Narendra Modi government’s penchant for yoga has rubbed off to the state-run carrier Air India. The airline has introduced yoga sessions for its newly-recruited cabin crew and pilots that are currently undergoing training. Every crew member currently being trained has to attend yoga sessions in the morning at 6.30 am, a senior Air India official said. Read more about the airline’s new policy here…
Fitness lesson from world’s oldest yoga teacher!
At 97, Tao Porchon Lynch is the world’s oldest yoga teacher. In her memoir, Dancing Light: The Spiritual Side of Being Through the Eyes of a Modern Yoga Master, she says, “There is nothing you cannot do”. The former MGM actress had studied with BKS Iyengar and K Pattabhi Jois. Here she talks about how she keeps a body of a 30-year-old from living with yoga for 73 years…
