Day 3, June 29, ’13 – Dubai
The most fantastic thing about doing yoga is that even if you meet yogis after 3 years; they have not aged a day! Honestly; it’s stunning. In fact the only way I knew that it’s not 2010 is when I saw Shijin’s 2 yr old son!
Dubai’s Yoga scene is booming! It’s really extremely encouraging that (like in most other aspects); the Islamic city-state has chosen to be open-minded to Yoga. And in fact, it’s been great because so many locals have benefited from practicing Yoga. Today’s Khaleej Times carries a story of how Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat has sanctioned land for a Yoga University in that Indian state. Finally, it seems India is waking up to the fact that Yoga is perhaps India’s greatest cultural asset and Her biggest gift to the world. In fact, YOGA is perhaps the most globalized Indian brand – perhaps second only to Bollywood. This would follow in the footsteps of S-VYASA in Bangalore which is the only deemed-University of Yoga worldwide.
Back to Dubai; and we are doing a class for old students and friends! Really look forward to that. Pictures to follow!
